About the Captain

Captain Gil Hubbs is a licensed USCG Captain for 1-6 passengers. Gil grew up in Bellport, NY along the south shore of Long Island on the Great South Bay. My dad had the passion for fishing and it seemed to rub off on me at a very young age. I spent most of my childhood along the waters edge doing everything from fishing for snappers and blowfish to crabbing and clamming. I remember catching my first stripped bass off the Bellport dock like it was yesterday. We spent every summer vacationing in Montauk where I honed my surfcasting skills and learned about the tides and rips. It has been my passion to someday run a charter business: teaching kids and adults alike how to catch fish and about our marine ecosystem.

When I'm not fishing you can usually find me on the water looking for bait or just scouting for new fishing grounds. It is this love for the water that has lead me to do what I think I was put here on earth to do. Lets go fishing!
